I study technology, health, media, and culture, and employ an intersectional lens in my work, whether I am writing about health technologies, media representations, or other subject matter.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Communication & Media Department at SUNY Oneonta. Previously I was an Assistant Professor at the College of Saint Rose until its closure, where I created the College’s minor in Health Humanities.
I am also the author of Therapy Tech: The Digital Transformation of Mental Healthcare, which you can learn more about by clicking here. My other research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, books, and popular formats including The Hastings Center’s Bioethics Forum, The Hedgehog Review, Qualitative Health Communication, Rhetoric Society Quarterly, Feminist Media Studies, and Biocitizenship: The Politics of Bodies, Governance, and Power.
